Paper towel thieves

Stop taking the damn paper towels!!

OK, so it is fine to use them, but stop taking the whole roll from the room they were placed in, and if you use the last one go get a new roll. It is really simple, people. Simple.

At work we seem to have an endless supply of paper towels. Each of the main bathrooms has a whole closet full of them. I don’t know why. I don’t care why. I just know because I am constantly going in there to replenish a roll somewhere. Why? Because my freaking co-workers can’t do it themselves.

Keep a roll in the lunch room. Simple. Only, every time I go in there to have lunch, there’s no roll! WTF! I just put one in here two days ago because there wasn’t one in here.

Keep a roll by the coffee machine. Simple. Only when I need to use one, there is no roll again. Someone used the last one and failed to replace it or it was a handy roll to steal and never got replaced. WTF!

I feel like the damn paper towel police, only there should be no full time police force of paper towels needed if everyone was responsible enough to get their own roll of towels out of the supply closet in the bathroom, which just happens to be magically replenished all the time because it is always full. Where is that fairy? Why isn’t she making sure everywhere else has towels too?

Let’s keep it clean people. Make sure there are paper towels where they should be all the time. ALL the time.

Something I already know

Ever gone to one of those “trainings” where they train you on something you already know?

Yeah, me too.

So you spend three hours doing the “bobs”…that’s the fun activity where your head nods up and down while you fight dozing off and keeping your head upright. Some people call them the “nods” but I just call them the bobs because it reminds me of a fishing bobber that tries to stay above the surface of the water as the fish pulls it down…think of this as your head trying to stay out of the fog of sleep.

Anyway, here’s to hoping your Friday isn’t ruined by someone telling you something you already know.

Clicking of the body clock

So, yeah, there was a holiday in the US yesterday. It was Veteran’s Day (thanks vets for all you have done and do) and so today is a day off from work.

However, the body clock does not know it’s a day off so it promptly woke me at the normal time as if it were a usual work day. Thanks internal body clock, I didn’t need that.

As such, I have obliged the body with normal coffee consumption but perhaps the only redeeming  factor in the early wake on a holiday is that I can take a nap later in the day. But, I would just rather be sleeping now.

Wardrobe tragedy

There is nothing worse than getting dressed up only to have a wardrobe tragedy occur without warning, and there rarely ever occur with warning so they are always a tragedy.

Raise your hand if you have ever: dropped food on your shirt/blouse? Dropped food on your pants/dress/skirt/shorts? Dropped food on your tie? Missed both your top AND bottom only to have it land on your shoe? Had it happen to your favorite outfit?

Dang it already…guess I’ll just throw this attire away and start over tomorrow.

**This post is NOT sponsored by Nescafe, but if it wants to I would completely open to large amounts of money.

Dust much?

Who the hell is supposed to dust around here?

Anyone else have this problem? You know, the one where you wake up one day and there seems to be a layer of dust on everything?

At work, there is a cleaning crew and I would assume they are supposed to dust, but apparently not. I can understand not dusting the inner portions of shelving and whatnot, I don’t expect that every nook and cranny be dusted. But do you think you could maybe run a cloth across the top of the book shelf once in a while? I mean, serious, it doesn’t have anything on top of it!

Seriously folks, there is enough dust on top of the shelf to qualify as an indoor, organic planter.

I’ll take care of my home, but I don’t expect to have to do it at work too.

Software updates

“We’re sorry, the software update over the weekend broke the software. Your job will be impossible until it is fixed. Please be patient as the squirrels work magic to make it work again.”

OR

“Daylight Savings, in conjunction with a software update over the weekend, has broken your software. Please freak out and give us a call.”

Damn, we have a bad case of the Mondays today….

Fall colors = a close simulation of hell

“Ooh they’re so pretty!”

“I just love fall. Crisp air and all the pretty colors on the trees.”

…said no one ever! Well, at least by someone who has the major task of raking all that “pretty fall color” out of their yard. Or, if you are in the Northwest, there is the forever piles of pine needles clogging up everything in sight! Sheesh.

As long as the days are dry and the weather is moderately mild, you can cheat and blow them outta the yard into your neighbor’s yard fairly easily. Once it get wet, as in rain, you need a freaking jet engine to blow them things loose.

So, if you don’t (or can’t) stay on top of the task, you are left raking – back busting, blister inducing, getting all wet and cold hell. After hours of sweating and bagging, you can see the lawn. And then the next wind storm comes and the process starts all over again. Welcome to fall hell…

Trees suck. We should cut them all down.

The floor is yours

P-M 100

There isn’t anything easy about it.

I don’t know how some of you do it. It? Post regularly AND have a great following, including interaction with readers and shares.

This ain’t easy. 100 posts and less than 100 followers. 100 posts of Pissing and Moaning about crap in life that’s irritating. Boy it sure feels good some days!

Are you in the same boat? Are paddling with half a paddle and bailing water with a hole in the bucket?

Go ahead, post a struggle or a frustration with blogging below. You now have the floor…

Dremel Multi-Max anything but max

Don’t you hate it when things just stop working? Yeah, me too.

I received this thing as a gift for my birthday one year. It didn’t get used for about three months and then it got used whole working on a remodel of a birthday. It was a helpful too, except when it wasn’t working.

Right from the start there was something wrong with the variable speed switch. Shake it, smack it with the ball of your hand, hold it just right and it would work. Finally I resorted to jamming a small shim into the switch area and it worked great at full speed. The problem was the shim couldn’t stay there forever since the tool obviously wasn’t designed to work that way. Total time in use, maybe an hour when all said and done?

The project ended and it got stored away. As you can see, it didn’t get abused or anything of the sort.

I dug it out to use it the other day. Doesn’t work at all now. Dead. Removed the shim, nothing. Put the shim back in, nothing. Now what? Obviously it is out of the warranty period. Totally disappointing it doesn’t work.

So, who’s the tool now? Dremel or me?

A bladder the size of a walnut

OK, so this getting old thing is getting old.

Is it a requirement that as you get older bladder gets smaller? I swear it must be.

I used to be like a damn camel when it came to holding my…water. Now I might go to the bathroom 3 times a night (sometimes not at all) and during the day, well let’s just say I might be wearing a path in the carpet at work from my cubi-cell to the bathroom. There are times where I find myself turning into the 8 year old I used to be and doing the “bathroom dance” because I am in the middle of something and don’t want to stop yet.

Yes, I drink a lot of coffee. Why wouldn’t I? Yes, I know it is a diuretic and it will cause me to pee a lot. But seriously, one cup could cause me to take four trips to the bathroom! LOL I think the problem here is my bladder has gotten smaller. That has to be it.
