Nothing like starting the day off at work thinking you are going to be doing one thing, only to find out that that plan is totally out and you will be doing something completely different and something you haven’t prepared for at all.
I got thrown into a training today, on a piece of the software that I am somewhat familiar with but by no means an expert on. Someone else has been prepping for this training for weeks and they were ill so they couldn’t do the training this morning. Luckily they had written a script for the training and I had an outline to work from. Otherwise there would have been a lot more fumbling around than there was.
The training went fine (I think) with only a few little spots where I needed a little help from my co-host, but the software was demonstrated and is now at least familiar to those who might be using it.
I may not get the best training ratings though. As someone who has sat through plenty of trainings, you can always tell when the trainer isn’t as familiar with the subject matter as they would like to be. That was me this morning. So, I imagine the reviews won’t be all the great.
Oh well. Good thing my paycheck doesn’t depend on it at this point.
I decided to take donuts to the office this morning because it’s been a couple long weeks due to the start up of school and every day has been stressful. We seemingly have had more help tickets come through out system in the last two weeks than we have had in a long time.
Anyway, as it turns out, there is already an organization wide meetings this morning (not just our staff meeting which the donuts were for) and there is typically refreshments served at that meeting. So, the donuts will likely go mostly uneaten.
Wasted food. Wasted money. Dare I say, wasted gesture?
I guess I have a lot of eating to do this morning…which may actually lead to a donut figure of my own.
It’s meeting time again and I just don’t wanna go.
Perhaps I can hide on the toilet like I do at home when I don’t want to do something.
It’s Friday and it’s meeting time.
I know I have complained and whined about this before. Just so we’re clear, I am doing it again and will continue to do it in the future too.
That’s how serious I am about not having meetings on Friday mornings.
Like really serious.
Apparently the memo I sent out (and by memo I mean this blog) hasn’t been read by everyone. So, please spread the word.
Another morning meeting.
That’s three this week. That’s three to start the day followed by another 19 during the week. Ugh.
I swear, if someone else plans a meeting for today after I have to go to this one, I am going to punch myself in the mouth so I don’t have to go.
Come on, people! It’s Friday. Sheesh! Slow down and ease into the weekend…
#$%& meetings! Just leave me alone today.
