Ulterior

Hey, wait a second…

Did you see this over the weekend?

CDC has updated, changed, fixed, (whatever!) the number related to deaths from of Covid.

As we all suspected from the beginning, co-morbidity factors (or other underlying conditions) were actually the true cause of death and not really Covid. In other words, Covid played a small part in the mortality rate but was not the sole factor in a large percentage (94%) of deaths.

So, why is it, again, that we are all in lockdown from this thing? Why is that the media is pushing the fear and doom? Why is that a large portion of our population is cowering in fear after having swallowed the story hook, line, and sinker?

Ever ask why there is so much misinformation about all this stuff?

Ever ask who benefits from all the misinformation about all this stuff?

Think, people, think!

It’s time to do your own thinking. Stop following the party line (whichever one you are in) and think for yourselves. Stop listening to the media. Go to the source whenever possible. When not possible, use media from different (all) points of view. Develop your own picture of what is going on and then think critically about it.

Ask questions. Ask hard questions.

Don’t take anything at face value. There is always more to it than what you see on the surface.

Always.

The focus is off and that’s the problem.

This whole Covid-19 thing has gotten the reporting all backwards.

At first, when this all came about, the reporting was all about how many people died each day. It was reported by county and by state.

Now, it isn’t necessarily how many people have died but how many people have been tested and have come back positive. From what I understand, a positive result doesn’t necessarily mean that they have a currently active case but just that they have had it at some point in the past (maybe I am misinformed…). Obviously, testing is now more prevalent than it was at the beginning, so of course there will be more people testing positive.

Anyway, just because someone has tested positive doesn’t mean it is a death sentence as we know the mortality rate is extremely low. So, other than fear-mongering, why keep reporting positive cases?

We don’t report how many people get the flu or the common cold on a daily basis, even though large numbers of people still die from them each year.

We don’t report daily car crashes, even though people die from those.

We don’t report daily abortions, even though babies dies daily from that.

We don’t report daily new cases of cancer, though people die from that as well.

Heart disease? Nope. Heart attacks? No. Suicide attempts? Not.

Doesn’t exposure and lack of death create a herd immunity?

So, what’s the big deal if more people are testing positive? The number of deaths (percentage wise) doesn’t seem to have spiked on an exponential climb. If the mortality rate has remained relatively the same, then is there really that much of a cause of concern?

Maybe I am missing something. Or maybe I haven’t.

A little off the top

I am not dying (well, not in the immediate sense of “not”) so you can probably decipher where this post is going…
Here in Washington we now have the pleasure of spending the next year paying into the “WA Family & Medical Leave” super fund. Mind you, we are just paying into it and no one can use the “benefit” for a whole year until the fund is built by every working stiff in the state. It is required by law. There is no way around it. Another new tax to take money out of my pocket so it can be given to someone else.
It is a new state “benefit” that I likely will never see or use. So I am not sure how it is a “benefit” to me. If it doesn’t benefit all, then is it really a benefit? If it COSTS me something, then it isn’t a benefit is it?
So, starting this month there will be a little more off the top of the pay check to pay into this fund. I am really not excited about it. Once again, the government is taking from me so that it can “protect” me. I don’t think I like this kind of protection.
