Authoritarian state

“We’re doing this for your own good.”

A statement you’re going to hear a lot in the near future.

Your freedom of choice is going to be taken away from you and this is only the first of many choices that you will no longer have a say in. It’s gonna soon be “my way or the highway” for lots of decisions that we have taken for granted.

I don’t know about you, but I saw little appeal in visiting New York previously but not I can honestly say there will no appeal whatsoever. As the governor of the state continues his over-reach on privacy and private businesses, there will be no reason at all to ever visit the state. (Apparently, he has also be “over-reaching” in his interactions with women too…”

A government official “strongly suggesting” a vaccine-only admissions policy is the first of many cascading steps to the government forcing compliance. We have already seen this with the lockdowns, so it is only a matter of time before we see it come about while simply trying to enjoy freedom as an American.

Sure, they want businesses to feel like they are the ones suggesting it and making it happen but we all know that isn’t the case. This is just so it takes the heat off the government and puts it on private businesses to deal with. It’s coercion and it’s all too common these days.

Of course, businesses big and small are accommodating the government here, there, and everywhere because they don’t want to get shut down themselves…well, because, coercion…

The avalanche has started and it is only going to get bigger. Life as you knew it, won’t be coming back.

Fear and control

Here we go again…

Totally predictable.

Fear and control were waning, so they need another variant to blast over the airwaves. Still too many people haven’t subjugated themselves to the shot and no amount of fearmongering will control them, so let’s go back to masking…first we’ll recommend it but eventually we are going to have to force them again.

Good grief, this is all so stupid.

The thin veneer they are operating under is so transparent. Now you have states telling people they have no choice to get the shot or submit to continual testing? Police state much?

Frogs in a slow boiling pot. You’ll are frogs.

Not sheep.

Life will never be back to “normal” if you keep letting them take it from you.

Destructive behavior

Have you ever had a sudden urge or desire to engage in destructive behavior, either physically or mentally?

I am not sure what triggers the feelings (and I am totally in control, mostly), but two destructive behaviors I am currently contemplating:

  • Eat everything in sight.
  • Fight, either physically or verbally, everyone.

I know there are lots of other destructive behaviors out there and these are relatively minor compared to some, obviously, but today this is what I am dealing with.

Anyway, maybe it’s the fact that my “don’t give a damn” meter has reached beyond critical. Maybe it’s that I am tired, super super busy, and only marginally motivated.

I don’t know.

How do other people deal with this?

I know this is a passing feeling. It won’t last. But today, the feeling is strong. very strong.

What do you do?

Accountablity

What are your thoughts about holding someone accountable?

Situation: Someone tells you that they will do something (or have something done, like a service) but it will involve several people for it to be seen through to completion. As the agreed upon service is unfolding, it is clear that its going to get screwed up because there are multiple people involved with several different parts to coordinate to make it happen.

What do you do at this point?

  1. Deal with the individual parts and let it play out, hoping it is done correctly.
  2. Go straight to the person who set the whole thing in motion and make sure they are coordinating the various pieces so the outcome is successful.
  3. Let it all go to crap and then hope it can clean it up after.

Being a planner, I think you know which way I would go here. But, I really want to know…what do you think is the best way to approach this?

Do you let the person who promised something hold on to that accountability, or do you take it on yourself?

You’re joking, right?

Well, this is something, and it is on point!

I couldn’t have said it better myself, so I had to share something that someone said better than me. Unfortunately, those who believe “it’s just a mask” have been swayed for too easily.

Ben Franklin was right, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty or Safety.”

Masks

My idiot governor has now “mandated” the use of masks statewide.

I hate the idea. Many, many, many people hate the idea.

The science is all over the place and if there was no need to do it previously (remember, they told us not to…because they were afraid there would be a shortage but now any old piece of fabric supposedly works) than what is the need now?

Power.

Government officials feel their power slipping away. In this state’s case, its likely an ego stroking for the governor too.

So, here we go.

To mask, or not to mask? That is the question.

To sheep or not to sheep? Also a question.

Hype

It’s getting rather old, isn’t it?.

Conflicting messages about what we should be afraid of…Covid-19, murder hornets, SARS, the flu, cancer, pollution, eggs, aliens, Russians and collusion…you name it and it’s likely been on the list at some point.

Sure, some are dangerous and some are likely even deadly. But to the extent that they would like us to believe? Not even remotely.

There have been lots of jokes on social media about the next big threat coming this summer, as in the Biblical plagues on the Egyptians or a really bad game of Jumanji.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t take much scrutiny to figure out there is something fishy going on. Rules apply to some, but not to others. Justice moves swiftly when those in power want it to move swiftly.

24 hour news cycles and billions of clicks later, there are definitely winners and losers are in this whole thing.

Some experts are more powerful than other experts. How does that happen? Whom is deciding who or what should be listened to and who we shouldn’t listen to?

There are a lot of questions these days and we, as the public, should be asking hard questions and then asking even harder questions. Maybe hunkering down and hiding in fear was the best answer, but maybe it really wasn’t.

What I do know is that I am tired of the hype.
