Sure, let’s meet again

Another morning meeting.

That’s three this week. That’s three to start the day followed by another 19 during the week. Ugh.

I swear, if someone else plans a meeting for today after I have to go to this one, I am going to punch myself in the mouth so I don’t have to go.

Come on, people! It’s Friday. Sheesh! Slow down and ease into the weekend…

#$%& meetings! Just leave me alone today.

Blink of an eye

It was nice here in the Pacific Northwest this weekend. It got up into the 60s and there were lots of people out without coats and washing their cars. I happen to have been one of them!

When the weather turns nice (and yes, in the NW 60s is nice) it is time to get out and work in the yard, getting ready for Spring. So, the weekend was a weekend to get off the couch and cast away the sluggish attitude to “get ‘r done!”

Well, I got her done. And I am paying for it this morning. All that activity made this old guy stiff and tired.

You know that feeling when your tired and you just want to stay in bed? Yeah, I got that this morning, but really the issue here today is that time that goes by in the blink of an eye.

Literally, as I was driving to work this morning, I think I could count the seconds go by with each blink of the eye. There was literally time in each blink to think, “It feels good to close my eyes. Wait, I’m driving, open back up.” Then the next blink comes, “Why did I get out of bed? Do I really have to do this?” The next blink, “It would be nice to just leave them closed. Why are they so heavy? Open, open, open…” And so on…It was a really long drive to work this morning.

Anyway, here’s to a slow-brained, slow-blinking kind of day…oh Monday…

Like a wrecking ball

trump-1

Anyone else feel like they hit a wall the moment they left the bed?

The urge to return to the warm confines of the sheets and just melt back into the mattress was very strong this morning.

MONDAY came in like a wrecking ball. It never hit so hard…

*There ya go, get that little ditty outta your head now*

You’re welcome, and unhappy Monday to you too.

Now, where is my intravenous coffee pot?

Pardon the interruption?

Rude, I tell ya. Absolutely rude.

The weekend was going along just fine only to be interrupted by a Monday. And a Monday it is.

How about an all staff meeting to start your Monday morning? Or your week? However you look at it, this isn’t the best way to start. Can I get an “Amen!”?

So, rude Monday, how about you just go away and let me get right back to my weekend?

I have a proposal

No, not that kind of proposal.

I know there will be some blow-back on this, but I would like to propose a new weekly work schedule. And while I understand there will be some resistance to this, I also know I will get a ton of support. If that support turns into millions of dollars in donations, well then I will run for president and make it happen.

Wanna hear it? I thought so.

I propose that we have Fridays every three days. None of this wait till the end of the week thing or working for the weekend. We should just adjust the schedule so that every three days is a Friday. Work one day, then a weekend. Work one day, then a weekend. Work one day, then a weekend. Understand? Yeah, I think you do. I can feel your support for this proposal growing by the second.

So, if you would like this to happen, donate money to me and I’ll kick off my presidential campaign as soon as I hit $10 million. That math is easy…I need 1 million people to donate $10 each or 2 million people to donate $5 each. See how easy that is?

OK, if you are with me, donate now!

Weekend’s gone in a flash!

Hey, wait! Can we have a do over? I am not ready for the new work week to start yet. I have too many projects I need to work on.

Man, anyone else notice that weekend went really dang fast?

Saturday was a insulation and sheet rock project in the garage, as well as a birthday party. Sunday was a soccer game and yard work.

I.am.not.ready.

How about we take a couple more days of weekend and call it good for this week?
